The Medbourne village website has a page of information at: Public Transport (medbourne.org.uk)
Note that this page has not been updated for some time and the Demand Responsive Transport DRT 303 service to Leicester has not operated since M&E Taxis ceased trading (sometime in 2021) and LCC did not re-contract the service as they contend it wasn't used.
The twice weekly DRT 304 service to Market Harborough is still operated by Murphy's Taxis and can be booked by telephone 01858 410210. Passengers will be charged the same rates as the standard bus fare (currently £2) for each journey and will be free for those who have a senior bus pass.
The Parish Council encourages Medbourne residents to make use of the DRT service as we understand LCC considers it a legacy provision which means funding might be withdrawn at any time. Furthermore, Parish Council efforts to lobby for improvements in public transport for Medbourne will have little traction unless there is evidence of demand through use of the existing services.
Some other bus services in the broader area that may be of interest to Medbourne residents are the following.
Welland Wanderer West – Tuesday only bus service from Gretton to Market Harborough via Ashley and Weston by Welland. Morning journey to Market Harborough with return in the early afternoon. Operated by Lawsons of Corby.
Blands R1 – Corby to Melton Mowbury via Cottingham, Gt. Easton, Uppingham and Oakham. Monday to Saturday regular timetable both ways.
